Earth Security Group (ESG) is a cutting-edge global advisory company that is guiding the sustainability impact strategies of some of the world’s biggest companies, investors and governments, using unique data-driven tools and analysis.
We are looking for a part-time Research Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will combine quantitative and research skills with a can-do attitude suited to a fast-paced environment of a boutique consultancy.
The candidate will be part of a research team that is developing ESG’s country sustainability index. The role is ideally suited to a PhD student that is looking for a part-time position and to apply quantitative skills in the field of sustainable development.
The candidate applying for this role will have the following qualifications:
- Recent post-graduate degree - of current MSc or PhD candidate - in economics, statistics, environmental sciences, public policy, international development or a related field that has included advanced use of statistical methods.
- Experience in procuring and managing data from diverse public datasets (i.e. data from international organisations) and assembling large datasets for analysis.
- Proficiency with Excel and data formatting is essential.
Great attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of R and a sound knowledge of quantitative methods for social research (i.e. regression analysis, principal component analysis).
Time and availability: This is a part-time position to start mid-December (2 to 3 days a week).
Work permit: The applicant must already have legal permission to work in the UK indefinitely.
