The Senior Quantitative Analyst will have responsibility for leading the development of ESG’s data and insight tools. She/he will bring expertise in data analysis and social research methods, and have experience with designing analytical models in a relevant discipline.
The candidate will help advance ESG’s indices and analytical frameworks that assess the social, environmental, economic, political and institutional factors that shape the development of countries and industry sectors.
Therefore, the successful candidate will have advanced experience in research design, data analysis and the development of indices, combining quantitative and qualitative research methods. The role will play a leadership role in identifying and designing new paths for research & development of ESG’s analytical tools, which increase their strategic insights and predictive power.
The Senior Quantitative Analyst at Earth Security Group will be a core part of a dynamic team, working in a highly collaborative professional environment. He/she will report directly to the CEO, and will coordinate and mentor a small team of researchers to produce and evolve ESG’s methodologies and tools.
- Research methods: MSc or PhD degree in a relevant field including the use of quantitative research methods and tools.
- Applied analyses (essential): Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of countries and regions on a range of social development, environmental, political and economic issues.
- Data analysis skills (essential): Knowledge of R or STATA, and a sound knowledge of quantitative methods for social research. Experience in procuring and managing data from diverse datasets and assembling large datasets for analysis.
- Organizational skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, an ability to work towards tight deadlines and managing teams for effective delivery.
Time and availability: This is a full-time position.
Work permit: The applicant must already have legal permission to work in the UK indefinitely.
